Even if it may seem a little eccentric to quote a rapper better known for losing control than for his managerial skills, he delivers a key message here: forgetting a stakeholder or underestimating her impact can threaten the chances of a project’s success.
Sure, there is an already well-known standard process for reducing stakeholders related risks to an acceptable level:
1️⃣Identify your stakeholders.
2️⃣Identify their expectations.
3️⃣Analyse the compatibility of their expectations; are they neutral / in conflict / in harmony with each other.
4️⃣Place them in an “interest / influence” matrix.
5️⃣Prioritise the expectations of strategic stakeholders for your business.
6️⃣Redo this exercise on a regular basis to ensure that any changes are considered.
But that doesn’t really prevent you from forgetting some. So let’s bring it to the next level!
💡“During each project kick-off, we should systematically include someone who has nothing to do with the project in the meeting »💡
✅It greatly increases the diversity of opinion.
✅It generates a lifelong learning environment.
✅It stimulates creativity.
✅It requires clarifying and popularizing.
✅And last but not least, it makes it possible to anticipate reactions from people who would not a priori have been considered as stakeholders.
❓And you, how would you make sure that if Booba hangs around your house, it has a positive impact on real estate prices?
